AS A STEM AMBASADDOR
We look upon you as a leader to deliver a global message about Research based learning opportunity for India Tomorrow. We seek your knowledge and expertise in grooming the Millennials (K-12 and Higher-ED) across states, across the country, in every corner possible.
STEM Learning has broad support among employers. Why? Because Skills developed by children through STEM provide them with the foundation to succeed in their career and beyond. — not only for careers in Science & Technology, but for every career in today’s world. Studies now show that students with Research Based learning outperform in school, university, and beyond.
It's time when every industry is impacted by digital technology, our Institutions should teach every student how technology works, where to use right technologies, make them learn to be creators, not just consumers. Today, this basic skill is taught only to the lucky few, leaving most students behind, especially young girls/women and students of underserved/underprivileged.
Students from India work all over the world in Technology companies in top positions, yet only 23% of our high school students choose science as a career. Is this acceptable? To enable Research-based learning possible, It is our responsibility to prepare the next generation with a progressive STEM curriculum.
A decade of progress has shown that change is possible: We had all kinds of Manufacturing and Services companies setting up their offices in India, it’s time we enable more technology entrepreneurs as well show the world to setup their Research Centres in India. Together we need to promote STEM learning from school education.
As all states rethink education in light of the recent Pandemic, it is time to make STEM learning a basic part of the “new normal.” Here’s why:
• Many states have funded laptops for Higher secondary students and many have experienced Online learning from primary to higher-ed, let’s make use of these platforms to keep learning
• Remote working will bring more opportunity. Graduates no longer need to leave their state to pursue careers in tech. Even the smallest town can become a tech hub; the key is education.
• Nearly every state is an exporter of strategic talent. We must empower the millennials and make use of their talents to make a better India tomorrow.
